Please be aware of the following:
- No Requests via Social Media: Members, staff, and leadership will never contact you via personal social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.) or private messaging apps like WhatsApp to ask for donations, gift cards, or financial assistance.
- Official Channels Only: All legitimate financial appeals will be made through official church services, our verified website [Website], or formal printed mailings.
- Verify Before You Give: If you receive a message that appears to be from a leader in our church asking for money or “a quick favour” involving a payment, it is likely a scam.
How to Stay Vigilant
- Check the Sender: Scammers often use a leader’s name but a different phone number or email address.
- Look for Urgency: Scammers often create a sense of “emergency” to stop you from thinking clearly.
- Do Not Click Links: Never click on suspicious links sent via text or DM.
- Report It: If you receive a suspicious message, please do not respond. Block the sender and notify the church office immediately here so we can alert the rest of the community.
